This site is a bulletin board for all ideas and info.

What you say goes.

It's rated 'R' because files might contain profanity, references to drugs, and/or material of a sexual nature.

Everyone 13+ is welcome and encouraged to post in an urgent and respectful manner.

The site has existed since 2004. The guy who owns it lives in New Jersey. Most members are from the East Coast of the U.S., but come from all over.

Pics are ok, but no "shock" images. Members can post a text link to whatever sites or images they want, as long as the link accurately identifies the content of the page, and pertains to the topic at hand. (Other Terms)

This exists to keep us connected and informed so when the revolution comes we'll be on top. We don't need to agree to be friends. We don't need to agree on everything to shape it.

What is the revolution?
(1:01:25 PM): I hate trying to explain the revolution.
(1:01:44 PM): It's not a rational, logical thought. Though it certainly includes rationality and logic.
(1:02:13 PM): It's an internal feeling. As we watch the news and as we go to class and as we eat and breathe. It's that odd prickling sensation that says "Something big is coming... Shape it" (fazzle)

  2. Link to Caught22. Encourage friends and enemies and random people you meet to join the community. Maybe leave it up on library computers, school computers, IM and e-mail your friends, write the URL on the chalkboard when the teacher isn't looking, buy a billboard, hack your boss's powerpoint and put a link there, put a link up on your website or in any publication you might edit.
     
  3. Give us artistic or technical know-how that makes us more attractive, useful, valuable, easy to navigate or legally protected.

A BRIEF HISTORY

I started out making Tripod pages my sophomore year of HS (2001-2002) and ran a site called 'The Pixilated (and Pixellated) Chronicles of Miscellany.' It was just random stuff. Eventually I added a Bravenet Message Board where my classmates and I would bash our teachers and school. It was very popular among the kids in my French class. (You played the game and lost.)

I became addicted to &the Temple of the Screaming Electron. Meanwhile, Red Tequila's Bleach (>>>welcome to bleach motherf____ers) and Mr. Chad Bartalone's Typo Rebellion showed me that I could create an underground information site of my very own.

Using free and ad-free hosts such as 4gigs and web1000 I started to learn HTML. The learning process consisted of Google, and copying and pasting other website's entire source code and finding out, "What happens if I change this?" Somehow I came up with the pages for 'Graffiti of Genius,' basically an early version of Caught22.

I got into paid hosting and domains with the help of funding from a local band, Talajasjo. (They were so awesome. Just because they were different, didn't mean they couldn't play cool songs, too.) I made their website. And I was in the band.

Then came 'The Hanover Chronicles,' an underground school website, hosted on Talajasjo's site. It was pretty cool - nothing too malicious. It forced me to refine my HTML skills and come up with an effective system of regular updates. QWASZX and WP Mass were also big on the scene at this time.

Then I put together Caught22. Not really sure how this is going to evolve just yet. It will be cool to find out.

If nothing else, this website will just be one more place where all speech is free. People might never access these files, but at least it won't be because they aren't available. People might not share their ideas and opinions on the bulletin board, but at least it won't be because they didn't have that opportunity.

Jason Warner of MercuryBoard--For creating the amazing code for our BBS which he is kind enough to share with the World Wide Web, and for fixing the board after I screwed it up, and helping out with the PHP for our file directory. Also, for directing me to our host, Site5, which has worked out really well. It should also be noted that MercuryBoard is responsible for the orange and gray color scheme of Caught22. That is the board's default style. I knew the board was going to be the heart of the site and it was one of the first things I got going, so rather than customizing the board to fit the site, I customized the site to fit the board.

Javascriptkit.com--For providing the free javascripts that randomly show images, banner ads, and quotes on these pages.

Dansie.net--For providing the form mail script.

Acid Fonts.com--The source for cool fonts. We used them on our headers.

Uselessgraphics.com--This is where I got most of the useless animations that you see around the website.

Richard Seaman--He was kind enough to grant us permission to use one of his brilliant photographs on our "Links" page. Surf the web, dudes.

U.S. Dept. of Education and Marvel Comics--The Spiderman graphic was just too perfect for our Files page. So I pirated it.

Textfiles.com--I used their table set up and lifted some of their files.

I used some images from a clip-art collection called The Big Box of Art and made some of the headings with PhotoFont Maker, software that came with the clip-art. I actually paid for this. It was worth it.

Joseph Heller, for writing Catch-22, and Rich Bodnar, my partner in crime, for coming up with the clever idea of using caught22.com as the title for this project. Rich also introduced me to TOTSE.com and, well, we've been coming up with crazy stuff since we met. Caught22 is just one on a list of our many really bad ideas.

Bob Jennings--For making sure that the forum is alive and that I don't mess it up. He notices things I don't, fixes them and comes up with fresh ideas.

Tyler Flagg for letting us use his fighter plane graphic for our home page.

RED TEQUILA--I completely stole his source code from his website (Bleach) and modified it. It has been warped and altered thousands of times throughout my site building exploits over the past 2 years, but that's the foundation.
